Being Treated at the ANC
Compassionate care, clear
guidance, and expert support
At The Animal Neurology Center, we know how overwhelming neurological concerns can be. That’s why we’re here to guide you every step of the way—with clear communication, expert care, and a compassionate, judgment-free approach. Our goal is to ensure you have the support and information needed to make the best decisions for your pet.

Before your appointment
Making an appointment
To schedule an appointment, we recommend your pet first visit their primary care veterinarian for a full evaluation. This ensures all general health considerations are addressed before focusing on neurological concerns. If your pet is experiencing an emergency, an urgent evaluation at an emergency veterinary center is advised.
Once your veterinarian submits a referral request along with your pet’s medical records, our team will contact you to coordinate the appointment. You can also reach us directly at info@animalneurology.com or 314-246-9780 for assistance.
Preparing for your appointment
We strive to make the process smooth and stress-free:
- Medical Records: We’ll have them from your veterinarian —no need to bring them.
- Fasting Instructions: Our team will let you know if your pet should fast before the visit.
- Medications: Bring all current medications your pet is taking.
- Patient History Form: You’ll receive a questionnaire via email —please complete it before the appointment to help us provide the best care.
- Videos: If you’ve taken any videos of your pet, please bring them with you in a designated album on your phone.
During your appointment
The appointment process
When you arrive, our client service team will welcome you and guide you to an exam room. Our team will then review your pet’s history, take vital signs, and discuss the case with one of our neurologists.
- Physical Exam: A detailed neurological examination is performed to assess your pet’s condition.
- Consultation & Diagnosis: The neurologist explains findings, discusses affected areas of the nervous system, and reviews treatment options.
- Diagnostics & Imaging: Depending on your pet’s needs, MRI, CT scans, or additional tests may be performed the same day.
- Hospitalization (if needed): For pets requiring further care, our 24/7 hospitalization unit ensures round-the-clock monitoring and treatment.
